Fresh Rolls

I LOVE Rhodes Rolls. They are so easy to put in a pan in the morning before going to church and they popping them in the oven when we get home. Yummy, hot rolls! When I run short on time I've made them for family functions over the holidays.

I bought my mixer about a year ago and decided to see if I could make the rolls by making the dough (I only know how to make over 100 rolls at a time) and freezing half the dough right before the final rising process. (I bake the other 1/2) They have turned out great!

After some lazy days I have not made rolls in awhile so I had a coupon for Rhodes rolls and bought them. I still had 5 rolls left from the last batch I made so I decided to see how mine did compared to the Rhodes.

I found, as you can see, that mine look almost the same going in but they rise and bake quicker. They are both still yummy but if your kids are like mine, the big rolls went first.

The Joys of Owning a Home

A couple of months ago I noticed that a spot in our yard was not drying out. I took me about a month to remember to tell Lyle about it. We waiting about another month until we did something about it.

Lyle had the boys help dig up the ground and then they had to break the concrete because the pipe, of course, was broken under the walkway.

The next day we had rain and Lyle had to wait for the ground to dry out before he could do anything else. We also had to get buckets and buckets of water out of the hole.

This is the fixed pipe. It will be interesting to see my water bill next month to see if there is any difference because Lyle also fixed a dripping pipe out in the back yard about a week later.
